What changes
- CSV holds one sheet of plain values. Multiple tabs, formulas, merged cells, and formatting are all lost — and long numeric IDs can lose leading zeros when the file is reopened in a spreadsheet app.
- If the document uses a font the server does not have, a substitution is picked before rendering — a close match, not the original. Line breaks and page counts can shift as a result, which is why it is worth opening an important file before sending it on.
