Convert TXT to PDF online
Convert plain text to PDF to turn notes, logs, or exported content into a document you can send, print, or archive. The text is laid out on real pages with consistent margins rather than left as a raw file.
When should you convert TXT to PDF?
- Print notes or a transcript cleanly
- Attach a log or an export to a report or a ticket
- Archive plain-text records in a fixed, readable format
- Send written content to someone who wants a document
Before you convert
No structure to preserve
Plain text has no headings, emphasis, or tables, so the PDF is a straightforward page of text. If you want a formatted result, convert from Markdown instead.
Long lines wrap
Text files with very long lines — logs and code especially — will wrap to the page width. Landscape orientation helps if line breaks matter.
What happens to your file
pandoc parses the TXT into its own document model and writes PDF from it. Because it works on structure — headings, lists, emphasis, links — rather than on appearance, the output is a real PDF document rather than a screenshot of one.

What changes
- Structure survives; precise visual styling does not. Custom CSS, exact fonts, and hand-tuned spacing are re-expressed in the target format's own conventions.
- If the document uses a font the server does not have, a substitution is picked before rendering — a close match, not the original. Line breaks and page counts can shift as a result, which is why it is worth opening an important file before sending it on.
