Convert DXF to PDF online

Convert DXF to PDF to send a drawing to someone for review or printing. The geometry is preserved as vector paths, so the drawing prints crisply at any size and opens for anyone without CAD software.

When should you convert DXF to PDF?

  • Send a drawing to a client or a contractor to review
  • Print a plan at full size without CAD software
  • Attach a technical drawing to a report or a tender
  • Archive a drawing in a format that will still open in years

Before you convert

Modelspace only

Paper-space layouts, title blocks, and viewports are not part of the export. If you need the sheet as it would print, produce the PDF from your CAD application, which knows about layouts.

Very dense drawings

A drawing with tens of thousands of entities produces a large file. PDF handles that more gracefully than SVG does in a browser.

What happens to your file

The DXF is parsed by ezdxf and its modelspace is drawn through a matplotlib backend, which then writes PDF. SVG, PDF, and EPS output stay vector, so the drawing can be scaled without softening the lines.

What changes

  • Modelspace is what gets drawn. Paper-space layouts, viewports, and sheet borders are not part of the export.
  • Conversion is one-way. Nothing here writes DXF back out, because turning a raster or a generic vector file into real CAD entities is a different problem entirely.
  • DWG is not supported at all — it is a proprietary format whose only reliable converters are commercial.
